Kraft Plus - July challenge

Roses 3 Ways

What a clever challenge, use roses three ways.
I tend to use flowers on a lot of my pages, and I thought this would be fun.

Rose one: stencilled roses in the background
Rose two: paper roses
Rose three: ivory resin rose (lower right hand corner)

Thank you to Sandra and the team at Kraft Plus for another great challenge.

Colour Stories Inspiration - case #233

Such pretty colours in this summery case file.

So Cute

How I solved the case:
The sketch: I have used the top part of the sketch and rotated it 90 degrees.
The scheme: carnation pink - heart; pale sage green - paper, flowers; sage green - photo matt, texture paste; white - paint splatters; light golden yellow - photo matt.
The evidence: flowers, wood veneer, watercolour paint splatters.
The testimony: the inspirational word 'hello'

Smile - July

Smile

I love the sombre colours on this layout. The texture paste for the stencilled roses is Shimmerz Paste-eez in raspberry sherbet...with 2 drops of black ink added. I am so happy with the finished colour, it matches the roses on the paper beautifully. The corner chipboard pieces I painted with black gesso, and then rubbed on some Prima Art Alchemy wax in brushed iron and amethyst magic. These waxes are my favourite new toys at the moment! The chippie title, I coated with Tim Holtz grit paste, gave it a smudge with chalk ink and randomly glued on some micro beads. I added some micro beads onto the black cheescloth and finished the page with a few pearls.

Thanks for looking.

13arts - challenge #56

Create your own background

Another fun challenge from the 13 arts team.

Hello
Using a photo taken during Aida's visit to South Australia in April. It was a wonderful day, meeting Aida and also meeting Vicki from Scrap Matrix. They are both such lovely caring, sharing people.

To create the background; first I sprinkled some 13 arts Rainbow Colour Duo - navy, spritzed with water and allowed it to dry. Then some purple shimmer spray, some random stamping - rocks and flowers, then over the top of everything I applied some transparent shimmer texture paste (his does not show up in the main photo) through a flower stencil.

Some close ups to show the shimmery texture paste. Apologies for the photo quality of these, the weather was not helpful!

Because I love the crisp, fresh feel of the background, I have kept the embellishments very simple, a few flowers, some flairs, hearts and a bow.

Thank you for looking.

D-Lish Scraps - July challenge

Primrose Lane

Always remember
At first I was unsure of what to do for this challenge.  While I often use aqua and red, I do not usually work with aqua and red together. However, as soon as I saw this photo of Kenzie at the Honour Roll at the Australian War Memorial,  I knew it was perfect for the Primrose Lane challenge.

For the background I have used a checker plate stencil with matt texture paste on the left hand side, and a small cross stencil with clear gloss texture paste on the right hand side. On the left, I added some watercolour paint, and on the right I have sprinkled some colour powder. I have added some washi tape down the middle, the script tape from a previous JAP kit, is still my favourite 'go to' washi tape. The rest of the embellishments are from the Primrose Lane kit. I have finished the layout with a 2 Crafty chipboard title.

Thank you to Amanda and the team at D-Lish Scraps for another challenging challenge!
