Using a photo from the archives...August 1999...taken when our eldest 

daughter was five months old. 

I am really happy with the mixed media wall effect I have created. It began with texture paste coloured blue, over which I layered a gold metallic based mist; and a mix of Inka Gold in silver, gold and turquoise and Gilders paste in bronze. I used bright colours to frame my photo, my inspiration from the mood board, and I have used the prompt "I am".

It took a while to find the right photo for this moodboard. In the end I was inspired by the greys and used them to create a moody background, highlighted by splashes of the oranges and yellow. As always, I loved the washi tape included in the May JAP kit.

The ships' graveyard

At Garden Island (Adelaide) there is a 'graveyard' of old ships left to rust. A very interesting place to explore by canoe and take some great photos.

The background was created using a mix of Distress, Dylusions and Shimmerz sprays, with a little Ken Oliver liquid metal splashed around. To matt the photo I have used some Stampin Up paper and Tim Holtz tissue wrap. The cogs are cut using the newish Tim Holtz Sizzix die and coloured with black ink and silver Inka Gold paste. I finished the page with the JAP washi tape, and some washers and dry wall tape from the shed.

How I solved the case:

The Scheme: all five colours used.

The Evidence: flowers, wood (snowflakes painted white), metal (flowers), butterfly, flair badge.

The Testimony: journal about a road trip or gathering.

A lovely photo of our cat Tootsie, relaxing on top of the budgie aviary. Lovely for her, but not so relaxing for the budgies!

Products used: 13arts His and Hers paper, stencil, rainbow colour duo - navy blue, Ayeeda mist - chalk amber yellow, micro beads, glass beads, white and black gesso; other products - kraft cardstock, chipboard flowers and flourish, wood veneer title, metal flowers and butterfly, resin hearts, micro beads - gold.

A beautiful moodboard, I was inspired by the monochromatic black/grey and turquoise colours and by the hand photo with the awesome rings.

Products used: Fab Scraps paper, ColourBlast colour paste - stormy weather and singin' the blues, Heidi Swapp colour shine - teal, Tim Holtz Distress Mist - black soot, Ken Oliver liquid metals - pewter, Kaisercraft feather die (silver feathers), Cuttlebug alphabet die, Simple Stories word stickers, Prima Marketing grey flower, and from my stash - turquoise feathers, grey and turquoise ribbon, black leave/flower ribbons, silver micro beads, white resin hearts.

This was the perfect challenge to complement the WW1 deep black challenge (previous post) and this will be the opposite page in the album. I really enjoyed creating this page and I love the end result.
